Wirral ready for Shankly fever

There are still a limited number of tickets available for the highly acclaimed 'Bill Shankly Story' at New Brighton's Floral Pavilion on Friday, August 6.

Four of his legendary Liverpool team - Ian Callaghan, Ian St John, Ron Yeats and Chris Lawler - will be live on stage.

The stage production features local broadcaster John Keith and actor Steve Hazlehurst, who narrates the story of the iconic Scottish manager who revolutionised Anfield fortunes.

Keith speaks Shankly's words and Hazlehurst narrates the story of the great man's life from his birth in the Ayrshire pit village of Glenbuck through his glory years at Anfield.

It has played to packed houses at home and abroad since its premiere in 2006 and is returning to New Brighton by public demand.

Kop legend St John said: "The incredible atmosphere created by the audiences at our shows tells you just how much Bill Shankly is revered by the public.

"What Liverpool have achieved during the past half century could not have been done without Shanks. The show tells his story by the people who knew him and played for him. It reveals the qualities of the unforgettable man behind the legend."

The audience will have the chance to meet Ian, the Colossus and the rest of the cast for autographs and memorabilia after the show.
